Episode 12 (17/12/11):
With Morgana at the head of a vast Southron army, a deadly net is closing in around Camelot, as the drama continues.

When the sorceress strikes, the ferocity of her attack forces everyone to run for their lives – even Arthur. But Morgana won't let him escape that easily. And so begins a chilling hunt.

Can Merlin save the King from Morgana's clutches? Or has Arthur's luck finally run out?


Episode 13 (24/12/11):
Morgana and Helios have successfully captured Camelot, and Merlin and Arthur are outlaws on the run, in the last episode in this series of Merlin.

Trapped in Ealdor with a ruthless army closing in, their situation becomes desperate. Arthur must take control before Camelot is lost forever…

But faced with Agravaine's betrayal and the strength of Morgana's force, the young King has lost his conviction.

Only Merlin can restore his faith, and only an extraordinary act can prove to the King that he was born to rule.

Will the young warlock convince Arthur before his dreams of Albion fall to pieces?


Hmmm, is it just me or does this sound very familiar to the series 3 finale???

4x08 Lamia - a brief review

I've read some other reviews on this episode, and not a lot of them have been positive. Am I the only one that completely love it? Probably not. At last, the brilliant Angel Coulby got something to do this week. I love Gwen and Arthur together, but Gwen is an amazing character with so much more to give and severely underused. We got to see that wonderful Merlin/Gwen friendship that we haven't seen in a long time, and I hope that this episode reminds the creators to get these characters in more scenes together.
The knights fighting over the 'creature of the week' Lamia, who appears to be nothing more than a sweet girl was extremely...weird. I guess I'm used to them being all lovely and 'nice', and to see them being mean to Merlin and Gwen was hard too watch, though I thought it worked well in the story.
As for Gwen and Elyan, I was excited about this episode as I thought finally we would see them in a scene together and that perhaps the creators remembered they were related. We kind of got a little bit of them, but it was very dissapointing. Oh, and the scene where Elyan finally speaks to Gwen since 3x07, in the form of telling her off was actually pretty good, though Gwen should have reacted better. If my little bro addressed me with that tone, he wouldn't have needed a half-serpent/human girl to floor him. You should have brought along that water jug Gwen!
As for other aspects of the episode, it was lovely to see a concerned Arthur on the trail of Gwen, Merlin and his knights. Uncle Aggy reminded us he was evil, and we got to see a completely badass Gwen. Oh, and a very cute Arwen scene at the end.
Overall, I very much enjoyed this episode, even though it was a filler.
Verdict: 3 Stars

Merlin Begins October 1st

Probably old news by now, but in case you didn't know Merlin starts on Oct 1st. Which is better than the Oct 8th date that I thought it was going to be.

Will get round to doing my BFI report soon, which will be all about Merlin episode 1. It was an amazing episode, and the 35mm made the whole thing simply beautiful.

May 4th - Arthur, Gwen and Gwaine scene

There's one scene with Arthur, Gwen and Gwaine on the main stairs in the courtyard, where Arthur is determined to go on a rescue mission to save Merlin. Gwen's saying that the "patrol found no sign of Merlin in the woods", but it's too dangerous. Arthur replies that he just can't sit around and do nothing. Gwen kinda tries to reason that he shouldn't go alone...that's when Gwaine - already sitting on his horse - said that Arthur won't be going alone. Apparently Arthur also said, that Merlin already saved is life. After that Arthur gets on his horse, and both of them riding away like hell.Thanks a million times to chayiana for this lovely spoiler, shared HERE
